FBC UK receives validation for climate targets from Science Based Targets initiative
Targets are aligned with SBTi’s Corporate Net Zero Standard and include FLAG emissions
8 May 2025 // Fox’s Burton’s Companies (FBC) UK Limited, a leading UK biscuit manufacturer and brand owner, today announces that its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
FBC UK commits to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) across the value chain by full year 2050, in a move that puts climate impact reduction as a key driver in the company’s long-term strategy. The targets have been set in line with the SBTi Corporate Net Zero Standard and the SBTi Forest, Land and Agriculture Guidance (FLAG).
In addition, the company commits to near-term targets to reduce:
- absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 50.4% by FY2032 from a FY2022 base year
- absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, fuel- and energy-related activities, upstream transportation and distribution, waste generated in operations, and business travel by 30% within the same timeframe
- absolute scope 3 FLAG GHG emissions 36.4% by 2032 from a 2022 base year
Simon Browne, FBC UK’s CEO said “Receiving SBTi validation of our science-based emissions reductions targets is an important milestone for FBC UK. It underscores our clear commitment to aligning our growth with reducing our environmental impact and to building a business that is sustainable, resilient and operates responsibly in our changing world.
